Luciana Duval, la próspera dueña de una casa de modas, decide buscar a la hija que abandonó años atrás. Al mismo tiempo, Cristina, su hija, deja el orfanato donde creció y se muda a un departamento con otras dos muchachas, lista para seguir su sueño de convertirse en modelo. Sin saber que es su hija, Luciana la emplea y Cristina está en camino al éxito cuando Luciana descubre que Cristina y Víctor Manuel, su hijastro, están enamorados. Luciana despide a Cristina, y Víctor Manuel se casa con una vieja novia, Tamara, porque ella le dice que está esperando un hijo suyo. Poco tiempo después que fue abandonada por Víctor Manuel y despedida por Luciana, Cristina descubre que ella, también, está embarazada.
